WELLINGTON, New Zealand (May 17, 2025) –Bede Cory, secretary of foreign affairs and trade, Rear Adm. Mat Williams, vice chief of New Zealand Defence Force, Capt. Jennifer Barnes, assigned to U.S. 7th Fleet, Lt. j.g. Michael Onuoha, assigned to U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), and U.S. Embassy New Zealand Chargé d'affaires Mr. David Gehrenbeck, participate in a tour aboard Blue Ridge for a key leader engagement during a scheduled port visit in Wellington, New Zealand, May 17, 2025. The Blue Ridge and embarked U.S. 7th Fleet staff conduct regular Indo-Pacific patrols to deter aggression, strengthen alliances and partnerships, and advance future warfighting capabilities.
