JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (May 20, 2025) – Leadership, research scientists and support staff attended another Edition of Mission Possible, an information-sharing event, held at the Battlefield Health and Trauma Research Institute. The purpose of Mission Possible is to better inform members of the command on the tactics, techniques, and procedures of the science directorates to include the resource acquisitions and administrative directorates. Led by Cmdr. Rachel Werner, Dental Corps, deputy chief science director, the event focused on the new Human Research Protection Program and the role of principal investigators. NAMRU San Antonio, part of Navy Medicine Research & Development, conducts gap-driven combat casualty care, craniofacial, and directed energy research in support of Navy, Marine Corps and joint U.S. warfighter health readiness and lethality while engaged in routine and expeditionary operations.
