OKINAWA, Japan (May 17, 2025) Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class Patrick Hix from Kansas City, Missouri, rigs the ensign onto a rigid-hull inflatable boat onboard Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) in preparation for boat operations in Okinawa, Japan, May 17. Benfold is forward deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s Largest DESRON and U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
