U.S. Army Soldiers, assigned to Foxtrot Company, 1st Aviation Regiment, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, part of Joint Task Force - Southern Border, examine the electronics of the MQ-1 Gray Eagle to verify the drone is operational at Libby Airfield, Fort Huachuca, Ariz., May 13, 2025. The 15M, MQ-1 Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) repairers, constructed a MQ-1 Gray Eagle which will be operated for detecting and monitoring during the southern border mission. Under the direction of the U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force–Southern Border aligns efforts to seal the southern border and repel illegal activity and is responsible for full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations, which will allow for more effective and efficient DoD operations.
