Air Force Lt. Col. Raynor Garey, a North Carolina National Guard communications officer, takes aim at a laser-guided weapon’s marksmanship simulator at the North Carolina National Guard’s Joint Force Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment, during the unit’s drill training here, April 6. The simulator, also known as a “Beamhit” station assists soldiers with basic rifle marksmanship and prepares them for their annual weapon’s qualification requirement. “It’s a cheap, no hazard trainer and you can’t run out of bullets,” said Army Sgt. Marc Spain, a small arms repairer and North Carolina National Guard Shooting Team member.
