U.S. Soldiers, from Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border, board a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter for an air assault operation near Dona Ana, N.M., May 10, 2025. The air assault enables access to a remote area where rugged terrain degrades the feasibility of ground-based operations. Under the direction of U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force–Southern Border aligns efforts to seal the southern border and repel illegal activity and is responsible for full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations, which will allow for more effective and efficient DoD operations.
