Connecting to Internet from a glacier

Utilizing Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN), a global Satellite Internet Network, with limited connectivity, Petty Officer 2nd Class Jetta Disco was able to transmit quality photography and full motion video in near real-time to Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C., from a remote location on a glacier near Koge Bay, Greenland. This timely information was essential in keeping Coast Guard leadership and operational commanders informed of mission progress and assuring personnel safety.
