In a time-honored Navy tradition, Ens. Chido B. Mutopo, staff nurse, and Capt. Patricia D. Butler, chief nursing officer, cut a cake together to recognize the Navy Nurse Corps' 117th birthday. Since 1908, when the first 20 nurses were commissioned, Navy nurses have served on the battlefield and at the bedside, as caregivers and leaders, bringing health and healing to warfighters. Mutopo and Butler are both assigned to U.S. Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Guam and work at U.S. Naval Hospital Guam.
