U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Border Patrol agent conduct a joint patrol alongside U.S. Soldiers assigned to 549th Military Police Company, 716th Military Police Battalion under Joint Task–Force Southern Border near Chula Vista, Calif., May 8, 2025. During this operation the team detected a suspected illegal border crossing in progress, where individuals were reportedly using a ladder to cross the barrier. Under the direction of U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force–Southern Border aligns efforts to seal the southern border and repel illegal activity and is responsible for full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations, which will allow for more effective and efficient DoD operations.
