U.S. Marines with Medium Marine Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 265 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, extract the Light Marine Air-Defense Integrated System during a Low-altitude air defense training as a part of MEU Exercise, at Ie Shima, Japan, May 6, 2025. U.S. Marines with the 31st MEU participated in a 3-day exercise designed to increase aerial-defense capabilities. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
