U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Jeremy Winters, the Joint Task Force-Southern Border deputy commanding general of maneuver prepares to answer questions during media engagement at the Border Patrol Station in Santa Teresa, N.M., on May 8, 2025. Brig. Gen. Winters reiterated his commitment to successfully gaining territorial control of the border and securing the U.S. multiple times during the media engagement. Under the direction of U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force–Southern Border aligns efforts to seal the southern border and repel illegal activity and is responsible for full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations, which will allow for more effective and efficient DoD operations.
