South Carolina Army National Guard Soldiers, assigned to 132nd Military Police Company, 168th Military Police Battalion, 90th Sustainment Brigade, Task Force Tough Hombres conduct foot patrols along the southern border near Rio Grande City, Texas, May 6, 2025. Their presence supports the 2025 southern border mission by assisting with area security and situational awareness. Under the direction of U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force–Southern Border aligns efforts to secure the southern border and deter illegal activity, and is responsible for full-scale, agile, all-domain operations that enable more effective and efficient Department of Defense support.
