Daniel Joumas, a radar operator assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 10th Mountain Division Artillery (DIVARTY), 10th Mountain Division, conducts routine maintenance on an AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel early warning radar system near Rio Grande City, Texas, May 5, 2025. The radar system provides early warning and detection and location of unmanned aerial surveillance and parcel drones approaching positions along the southern border. Under the direction of U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force - Southern Border aligns efforts to seal the southern border and repel illegal activity and is responsible for full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations, which allow for more effective and efficient DoD operations.
