Maj. Gen. Jim Seward, the Adjutant General, and Command Sgt. Maj. James "Dusty" Jones, the Senior Enlisted Leader of the West Virginia National Guard, visited 771st Troop Command Battalion Soldiers conducting individual weapons qualification at the modified record firing range at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, West Virginia, on May 3, 2025. Seward, who assumed command of the WVNG in February, provided insight on his vision for the Guard during this first visit with the Soldiers from the 771st TC BN.
“We're the 1% - we have to be ready to go today,” said Seward. “All of your neighbors are counting on you and so if you’re not ready to go today, I want you to make that one of your goals.”
