Brig. Gen. Freddy Adams, commanding general U.S. Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command, and Command Sgt. Maj. JennyAnne Bright, MICC command sergeant major, were among the many Joint Base San Antonio service members attending the Army Day at the Alamo. Lt. Gen. Allan Pepin, Commander, United States Army North (Fifth Army) and Senior Commander, Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis, was the keynote speaker at the event that included Mayor Ron Nirenberg, City of San Antonio, members of Fiesta San Antonio 2025 royalty, and military veterans and their families.

Army Day at the Alamo is celebrated on April 29 to commemorate the long-standing partnership between the U.S. Army and the Alamo. The event highlights the Army's presence in San Antonio and features patriotic music by the 323d Army Band "Fort Sam's Own". This day serves as a reminder of the historical significance of the Alamo in U.S. military history.

In 2025, we also celebrate the 250th Birthday of the U.S. Army; older than the nation it defends, the Army has been steadfast guardian of the American way of life since its inception, and we owe it all to the centuries-long legacy of our nation’s finest.
