U.S. Army Sgt. Charles Julien, an infantryman assigned to B Co., 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 11th Airborne Division, fires an M4 carbine April 17, 2025, at the known distance range on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson as part of the Alaska Army National Guard’s 207th Multifunctional Training Regiment’s Advanced Leader Course. Infantry ALC is a branch-specific course that provides Soldiers selected for promotion to staff sergeant the opportunity to hone the leadership and tactical skills needed to lead squad-size units. The course curriculum included Army operations, combat orders, land navigation, leadership, M4 carbine marksmanship training, machine gun training and squad tactics.
