U.S. Soldiers, assigned to Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, arrive at Libby Airfield in Fort Huachuca, Ariz., April 29, 2025. The 3rd Battalion, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division has deployed to the southern border to assume aviation responsibilities from 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. Under the directions of U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force - Southern Border aligns efforts to seal the southern border and repel illegal activity and is responsible for full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations, which allow for more effective and efficient DoD operations.
