SAN DIEGO (April 30, 2025) — Chief Electrician’s Mate (Nuclear) Ethan McClellan, assigned to Submarine Training Facility San Diego, demonstrates shoring and emergency carpentry techniques used aboard submarines to control flooding and reinforce structural stability. The demonstration was part of an Educator Orientation Visit for education specialists from the Pacific Northwest, offering insight into the advanced training and damage control skills required of Navy submariners. Navy Talent Acquisition Group Pacific Northwest manages more than 34 enlisted and officer recruiting stations throughout Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska. The command’s mission is to recruit the next generation of warrior Sailors from the Pacific Northwest, focusing on high-quality candidates who will enhance the readiness of America’s Navy and inspire future leadership.
