U.S. Marines with Animal Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, prepare to fast rope from a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter assigned to Marine Medium Tilt Rotor Squadron 265 (Rein.) during aerial fast rope training as a part of MEU Exercise at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Apr. 30, 2025. Marines participated in fast rope training to enhance air-to-ground insertion capabilities during MEUEX to prepare for future operations. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
