Family members of 100th Bomb Group veteran Capt. Robert “Bob” Wolff hold Bob’s ashes as they spend time with leadership and Airmen from the 100th Operations Support Squadron, at Thorpe Abbotts, England, April 16, 2025. Bob was a B-17 Flying Fortress pilot stationed at Thorpe Abbotts during World War II and passed away in October 2024 at age 103. Two of his grandsons, granddaughter-in-law and two great-grandchildren visited the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum to bring the former B-17 pilot “home.” He had previously never returned after his eighth mission due to becoming a prisoner-of-war at Stalag-Luft III, Germany.
