The Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Savannah (LCS 28), center front, participates in a multilateral maneuvering exercise with Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45), Philippine Navy ships BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PS-16) and BRP Apolinario Mabini (PS-36), Philippine Coast Guard offshore patrol vessel BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301), and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force JS Yahagi (FFM-5) during Exercise Balikatan 25, April 27, 2025. Balikatan is a longstanding annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military designed to strengthen our ironclad alliance, improve our capable combined force, and demonstrate our commitment to regional security and stability.
