JBSA-CHAPMAN TRAINING ANNEX, Texas – Pacer Forge is a 36-hour, scenario-based exercise within Air Force Basic Military Training (BMT). It's designed to test trainees' teamwork, problem-solving skills, and discipline in a simulated deployed environment. It emphasizes the importance of teamwork, discipline, and the ability to solve problems under pressure in stressful situations. The exercise replaced Beast, the previous culminating event of BMT, and focuses on Agile Combat Employment (ACE) scenarios, where trainees are organized into smaller, dispersed teams. The exercise serves as the final field training event of BMT, allowing trainees to apply their skills in a simulated combat environment. In March 2025, the Air Force extended Pacer Forge to 57 hours (3 days and 2 nights) to allow for more extensive operational training. (U.S. Air Force photo by Brian G. Rhodes)
