Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency personnel pass a bamboo shoot to the construction area during a recovery mission in Laos, March 2, 2025. The DPAA recovery team and local workers built wet screens near the excavation unit in order to search through soil for possible evidence leading to missing personnel. This recovery mission is focused on accounting for those who remain missing from the Vietnam War where there are currently 1,573 personnel who remain unaccounted for. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
