GREAT LAKES, Illinois (April 21, 2025) Gas Turbine Systems Technician Mechanical 2nd Class Anderson Adams, an instructor at the Surface Warfare Engineering School Command Great Lakes Gas Turbine Systems Technician (GS) "A" school, instructs a group of accession-level Sailors on gas turbine operations. GSs are broken into two sub specialties, GSE, or electrical, and GSM, or mechanical. GSMs operate, repair, and perform organizational and intermediate maintenance on mechanical components of gas turbine engines, main propulsion machinery, while GSE's perform maintenance on the electrical components.
