Jon Fillingham, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rough River Lake project manager, records piezometer readings to monitor internal water pressure at the Rough River Lake Dam in Falls of Rough, Ky., April 4, 2025. Following a period of heavy regional rainfall, Louisville District personnel maintained 24-hour surveillance of the structure to ensure the integrity of the dam during the high-water event. The reservoir is designed to provide flood storage capacity to mitigate downstream risks, and engineers confirmed the dam is operating as intended with no safety concerns.
