250403-N-CY609-1057 MCAS Iwakuni, Japan (Apr. 04, 2025) — Equipment Operator Constructionman Tyler Smith and Equipment Operator Constructionman Raymark Acebo, Equipment Operators, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3 rake Concrete as NMCB-3 Seabees participate in Rapid Airfield Damage Repair (RADR) training with 439th Civil Engineering Squadron (CES), Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 171, and Seabees from Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (H&HS) at MCAS Iwakuni. The two-week training led by 439th CES successfully bolstered interoperability, creating a more cohesive and effective force. Through classes, walkthroughs, and events, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen honed their combined capabilities to maintain a “Ready Now” fighting force and aid MCAS Iwakuni in Base Defense Readiness. NMCB-3 serves as the stand-in engineering force for Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, executing high-quality construction operations and supporting major combat operations in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility.
