U.S. Navy Capt. Sara Taylor assumed command of Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, the U.S. military's sole enduring base in Africa on April 3, 2025. She relieved Capt. Eilis Cancel, who led the camp since spring 2024. Rear Adm. Brad Collins, Commander, Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central, presided over the ceremony.
Camp Lemonnier is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied and partner nation forces to be where they are needed to ensure security and protect U.S. interests. The installation provides world-class support for service members, transient U.S. assets and 36 local tenant commands. (U.S. Navy photos by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Maurice Brown)
