U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Keith Bochert, explosive ordnance disposal technician and short-term individual augment, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, excavates a unit during recovery operations in Vietnam, March 15, 2025. Daily recovery operations that each member cycled through included: excavating units, loading material into buckets, utilizing the high-pressure water system, wet-screening material and collecting possible remains and life support equipment under the guidance of the scientific recovery expert and life support investigator. Both the DPAA team members and the short-term individual augments, combined their knowledge and skills to achieve the fullest possible accounting during the 50-day recovery mission.
