Staff delegates receive a demonstration of various weapon systems organic to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Detachment, Combat Logisitics Battalion 26, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, during a tour of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), Iwo Jima Amphibious Readiness Group, during a staff delegation visit while underway in the Atlantic Ocean, April 5, 2025. The visit showcased the capabilities of the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit as part of the IWOARG/22MEU team, illustrating the strategic importance of amphibious shipping for projecting power and rapidly responding to global crises. The delegation's visit aboard LHD 7 during Amphibious Squadron 8 (PHIBRON 8), 22nd MEU Integration (PMINT) exercise enabled dialogue between the staff members and Navy and Marine Corps personnel, deepening their understanding of the ARG/MEU's diverse mission sets and underscoring their indispensable role in achieving national security objectives.
