U.S. Air Force client systems technicians from the 48th Intelligence Support Squadron (ISS) use a fusion splicer to fuse two broken fiber cables into one functioning fiber cable at Beale Air Force Base, California, March 21, 2025. The 48th ISS provides in-garrison and deployed communications and logistics maintenance for the Distributed Ground Station-2 and also ensures multi-source intelligence from the U-2 Dragon Lady, MQ-1 Predator, General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper, and RQ-4 Global Hawk aircraft is exploited in real-time and sent to combatant commanders and warfighting forces.
