Taylor Bates participates in a sea and anchor evolution on the bridge as USS Thomas Hudner returns to Boston, her commissioning home and hometown of her namesake, for a scheduled port visit following recent operations in U.S. 4th Fleet. Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic (SURFLANT) is responsible for manning, training, and equipping assigned surface forces and shore activities, ensuring a capable and combat-ready force to support U.S. national interests.
