STENNIS SPACE CENTER, Miss. -- Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School Chief Petty Office Thad Thaddius Bray and Mr. Bob Tokarek, retired command master chief, cut a cake in honor of the 132nd birthday of the rank of the U.S. Navy chief petty officer (CPO).
The CPO embodies the warrior ethos. They are leaders and mentors dedicated to bridging the gap between enlisted Sailors and Officers. CPOs are technical and operational experts who shape the next generation of naval leaders by setting and enforcing standards and holding their teammates accountable. Navy Chiefs are expected to produce results – warfighting readiness. (U.S. Navy photo by Sharon M. Mock)
