A soldier uses a fuse wrench to attach a Point Detonating (PD) fuse to a 155mm High Explosive (HE) round during gunnery operations here, March 14. The 155mm rounds are the primary ammunition of the M109A6 Paladin, self-propelled howitzer. The field artillery training is conducted through the 139th Regiment - Regional Training Institute located here. The 139th was honored as an "Institution of Excellence" from the U.S. Army’s Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). The field artillery course is but one of the combat arms classes available for instruction. The 139th RTI holds 23 accreditations ranging from professional development schools like commissioned and noncommissioned officer training to disciplines in infantry, armor, engineers, transportation and health services.
