Documentary filmmakers with VisionAero, a production team filming for IMAX theaters, visited Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, to highlight the Alaska Army National Guard’s 207th Aviation Troop Command as they operated in 49th state’s rugged terrain and dynamic weather from March 11-19, 2025. In an environment as challenging and expansive as the Arctic, the AKARNG CH-47F Chinook, UH-60L Black Hawk, HH-60M Black Hawk, and the C-12 Huron air and ground crews’ capabilities are indispensable to its mission of defending Alaska and supporting its communities. The final film will showcase, in IMAX quality, the 207th Aviation Troop Command’s vital efforts for national defense and security, particularly as the Arctic’s strategic importance continues to grow.
