Artist John Phelps, creator of the sculpture, talks to the crowd in attendance of the monument unveiling ceremony at the Warrior Hope and Care Center at Wounded Warrior Battalion East aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune March 8. Phelps spoke about the meaning of the sculpture and his son, who was a Marine that was killed in action in April 2004.
