Sergeant Phillip J. Campas, drill instructor, Company L, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, looks on as a group of educators from Upstate New York fall-in to formation during Recruiting Station Albany's annual Educator's Workshop, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, March 12, 2013.
The Educator's Workshop is a program designed to lift the veil to expose high school and college educators and administrators to the process that transforms young men and women into basically trained Marines.
Led by a Drill Instructor, each of the 48 Marine Corps Recruiting Station across the United States escorts a group of 40 or more educators on a tour of the training facilities at either MCRD Parris Island or MCRD San Diego. Attendees are granted nearly unprecedented access to the training facilities, recruits, and Marines who are charged with making Marines.
