NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 28, 2025) Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) commanding officer Capt. Trace Head congratulates Quartermaster 3rd class Amir Williams, during a promotion ceremony on the barge mess decks, Feb. 28. During the ceremony, six sailors were promoted, Head awarded the Battling Bastard of the Week, and updated the crew on the schedule of the ship’s dry dock period. Bataan is currently undergoing regularly scheduled repairs in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyards.
