Rear Adm. Tilghman D. Payne (left), Gen. John M. Paxton Jr. (center) and Lt. Gen Kenneth J. Glueck Jr. (right), lay a wreath March 13 on Iwo To, Japan, in honor of those who fought in the battle of Iwo Jima. Japanese and U.S. veterans of the battle of Iwo Jima, along with active-duty service members, came together on Iwo To for the annual Reunion of Honor Ceremony, which commemorated the 68th anniversary of the battle. Tilghman is the commander of U.S. Naval forces Marianas and Joint Region Marinanas. Paxton is the assistant commandant of the Marine Corps.
