U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Samuel Scott, a fire support Marine, and Capt. Noah Kerns, a joint terminal attack controller, both with 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, observe an impact of a high explosive point detonation round during Artillery Relocation Training Program 23.4 at Ojojihara Maneuver Area, Japan, Dec. 4, 2024. ARTP provides realistic, live-fire training opportunities to the only permanently forward-deployed artillery unit in the Marine Corps, enabling them to provide precision indirect fires from a distributed environment in support of maritime operations. 5th ANGLICO supported 3d Battalion, 12th Marine Littoral Regiment with indirect fires planning, coordination and direction. Scott is a native of Iowa and Kerns is a native of Ohio. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Kira Ducato)
