The Gung Ho award is a peer-based honor given to Marines who demonstrate the most motivation and embody the Marine Corps' "gung -ho" philosophy, rooted in the Chinese phrase meaning "working together.” Corporals Course is designed to provide Marines with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to assume greater responsibility as a non-commissioned officer.
