A U.S. Soldier assigned to the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence assists his teammates in carrying a simulated patient on a litter during a combat medic field training exercise at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis, Texas, Oct. 21, 2024. The course expanded upon Army medic base level skills, including how to keep casualties of combat operations alive for 12-24 hours after engagement. The soldiers neutralized threats on patrol and transported the wounded to the nearest battalion aid station to continue emergency care. Upon completion of the FTX, the students graduated from the combat medic course, obtaining the occupational specialty code of 68W. (U.S. Air Force photo by Kathryn R.C. Reaves)
