APRA HARBOR, Guam (Sept. 13, 2024) Construction Mechanic 3rd Class Cam Shortridge and Equipment Operator 1st Class Jacob Helfert, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1, set up rigging gear during the Multinational Underwater Repair Engagement (MURENG) 24 onboard Naval Base Guam, Sept. 13, 2024. MURENG 24 is a joint exercise between U.S. and partner nations focused on interoperability and the exchange engineering and underwater construction tactics, techniques and procedures in support of Expeditionary Port Damage Repair and Opening. NCMB 1 is deployed under Commander, Task Force 75, which executes command and control of assigned Navy Expeditionary Combat Forces across the 7th Fleet area of operations to defend U.S., allied, and partner interests.
