Local residents move in to assist a Maryland Army National Guard aircrew with unloading generators, fuel and other supplies from a Ch-47 Chinook helicopter in Burnsville, North Carolina, Oct. 10, 2024, as part of Hurricane Helene response efforts. Helicopters were one of the few ways to get supplies to the remote area, which was isolated when floodwaters from the storm washed away the main road in and out of the area.
