U.S. Air Force Capt. Mindy R. LeBarr, family nurse practitioner at the 188th Wing Medical Group serves in both a military and civilian role for the Arkansas Air National Guard at Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Capt. LeBarr began her enlisted career in 2005, as an Aerospace Medical Service Technician.
Utilizing her military benefits as an Arkansas Air National Guardsman LeBarr earned her bachelor’s degree as a registered nurse and graduated with ZERO DEBT.
Her military training and experience as an Aerospace Medical Service Technician assisted LeBarr during her nursing school, and propelled her as a stand out candidate when applying for positions on the civilian side.
After receiving her degree in 2014, LeBarr commissioned as an officer in the ARANG in the 188th Wing Medical Group. Two years, she once again utilized her educational benefits and in 2019 earned her masters degree from Walden University's family nurse practitioner program.
“The connections I made in the guard helped me be able to network and find great preceptors for my clinical rotations. This allowed me to continue progressing through the program without delay and it provided me with clinical experiences that my peers did not have the privilege of experiencing,” said LeBarr.
In 2021, LeBarr was selected as the full time civilian family nurse practitioner for the 188th Wing Medical Group. In this position she provides Airmen case management.
