Charlie Bowers (center), an eighteen-year-old senior from Bluffton High School, Bluffton, S.C., watches as F/A-18 Hornets from Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115 takeoff and land on the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort flightline, Feb. 15. Bowers who suffers from Stargardt's disease, a macular degeneration that causes vision loss to the point of blindness, wanted to experience military aviation before the disease worsens his vision.
