U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Michael S. Cederholm, commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force, presents the King’s Coronation Medal to a British Commando, a Personnel Exchange Program officer currently assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Force, during an award ceremony at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Sept. 30, 2024. “I will remember this special time for these two countries. This will be something I treasure, even when I am no longer serving,” said the Commando. The King’s Coronation Medal is a commemorative award recognizing the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla in May 2023. This medal honors service members for their unwavering dedication to their nation. Additionally, it celebrates the deep bond between the Armed Forces and the monarchy, acknowledging the vital role that military personnel play in upholding national traditions and events.
