Joshua Sandoval, 902d Civil Engineer Squadron heating, ventilation and air conditioning mechanic, checks the temperature of a walk-in refrigerator after completing repairs on the condenser unit at the dining facility on Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Sept. 18, 2024. The temperature check is a critical step in ensuring the walk-in refrigerator is maintaining optimal cooling levels, by confirming whether the unit is functioning correctly, Sandoval can determine if additional refrigerant is needed to keep the system running efficiently. The reliable operation of refrigeration units at the dining facility is vital to the base’s food service, providing fresh meals to military personnel and supporting their health morale and overall readiness. The 902d CES conducts such maintenance regularly to ensure mission-critical infrastructure remains fully operational. (U.S. Air Force Photo by Jonathan R. Mallard)
