U.S. Marine Corps Col. Jenny Colegate, commanding officer of Marine Corps Base Quantico, receives a medal from Sgt. Ryan Z. Lloyd, an air traffic control navigational aids technician with the Marine Corps Air Facility, after finishing the Quantico 12k with an official time of 53 minutes and 40 seconds on MCBQ, Virginia, Aug. 24, 2024. Colegate won first place in the Female Masters division, and fourth place female runner overall. The event challenges runners and their individual tenacity as they ran 7.46 miles of trails through the woods of Marine Corps Base Quantico’s Officer Candidate School.
