U.S. Army Sgt. Luis Ascencio, a military working dog handler assigned to the 18th Military Police Brigade and the Combined Military Working Dog Detachment - Europe, directs his military working dog, Staff Sgt. The Department of Defense finds some of its military working dogs via the DOD Military Working Dog Breeding Program (also known as the Puppy Program), which sees 50 to 90 puppies born every year.
