PENSACOLA, Fla. (August 20, 2024) - Airman Randall Stone signals to an instructor operating the hoisting tower during a disentanglement and rescue procedure with a simulated pilot at Aviation Rescue Swimmer School. Aviation Rescue Swimmer School is a physically and mentally demanding six-week course in which candidates learn water survival skills, practice rescue and disentanglement procedures, and complete several in-water tests that evaluate their abilities to swim and remain calm under pressure. Upon successful completion of Rescue Swimmer School, students will proceed to Class “A” Technical School to learn one of the Aircrew ratings. (U.S. Navy photo by Nava Kiss)
